Celebrating the intersection of tradition and innovation, Kathmandu Fashion Week brings together Nepal's top designers, models and creatives for an immersive celebration of culture and couture.

Our mission was to bring that same energy online: a digital runway that makes registrations easy, keeps every season in one place and carries the brand with cultural pride and a global outlook. The first edition took place at the Radisson Hotel, the site now lists 20+ designers and its upcoming edition runs over two days.

Key goals

What the site had to do.

Four goals shaped every screen, from the homepage to the registration forms.

  1. 01

A bold, editorial look that feels like a digital runway

  2. 02

Easy registrations for models, designers and content creators

  3. 03

A central hub for past and future events and content

  4. 04

Consistent branding with cultural pride and a global outlook

Our approach

How we approached it.

A clean, modern interface that steps back and lets the visuals walk the runway.

  1. Designed a clean, modern interface in a black-and-white palette that matches the brand identity

  2. Focused on clarity during key interactions, like viewing events or filling in forms

  3. Applied generous white space for a distraction-free experience

  4. Used that white space to make browsing events and registering effortless

Design decisions

Six design decisions, explained.

Every choice traces back to one idea: the website should feel like the runway.

  • 01 · Typography

    Helvetica Neue · bold headlines

    Helvetica Neue

    Why?

Clean and timeless, perfect for bold headlines and modern minimalism. It keeps event names, designer profiles and key callouts sharp on every screen.

  • 02 · Colour palette

    Black #000000
    White #FFFFFF

    Black & white

    Why?

Black and white give the site the clean, timeless feel of a fashion editorial and keep the focus on the visuals.

  • 03 · Responsiveness

    Mobile first approach

    Why?

Most visitors browse on phones, so we designed mobile first for discovering events and filling in forms without friction.

  • 04 · Interactivity

    Subtle animations

    Why?

Fashion is movement. Subtle animations echo the elegance of a runway walk and make the site feel fluid and alive.

  • 05 · Feel

    Smooth scrolling

    Why?

Smooth scrolling creates a premium, fluid experience that mirrors the grace of the runway.

  • 06 · Look

    Sharp edges

    Why?

Crisp, defined edges feel contemporary and precise, like a perfectly tailored garment.
